I have been thinking that translators in Africa are yet to tap into mass markets and into certain industries/brands in Africa. For example, the fashion, food, and cosmetics industries portray the dynamism of consumption trends in Africa. Businesses in Africa will benefit immensely from the huge markets within and outside the continent through translation and language services.
About Me
Joy Ezemonye holds a B.A. in French, a Dip. in General Translation Studies, and a Master I & II in Specialized Translation (Subtitling). She has undergone certified professional and leadership training to add value to her work.
Joy has been working as a professional freelance translator for more than a decade. She is passionate about translation and the power of words (and graphics) for making ideas, information, and knowledge come to life. She has used her knowledge of cultural specificities to translate for clients across diverse sectors/fields – Environment, Dance & Arts, Economy and Sustainable development, Export and Tourism, General administration etc. in Senegal, Nigeria, Malaysia, Vienna (University of Applied Arts), and South Africa. Joy has made working visits to Togo, Cote d’Ivoire, Senegal, and The Gambia.
Joy is a member of both the Nigerian Institute of Translators and Interpreters (NITI) and the Senegalese Association of Translators (ASTRA). Joy is the Lead Coordinator (Translation and Language services) at AUDE Translingual Services Limited. She is discreet and dedicated to her profession. She is a wordsmith par excellence.
